soooo i was looking up the definition of smitten, which interesting enough is a version of smite. it’s meaning certainly has been softened/sweetened over the years. smitten is such a cutesy word, seems to have lost it’s power; no longer really conveying being violently affected by how much you are taken with someone. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY
